Australian Tractor Pull Championships Easter Saturday 2007

  "Quambatook"

The weather was great, Tractor Pulling got under way just after 1.30 with the vintage tractors on both tracks, then the mini

 mods started on track 2. We saw good numbers in the mini events, with some surprises in the results.

Open mini saw New Blood giving us a display of  brute force until some rear end failure put play to his day.

Elaine Shaw on Flat Broke was unstoppable with a 120 mtr + run before she shut it down.

There will be a full list of results as soon as they become available to me.

Also I have dusted off my old vintage camera, if the happy snaps turn out I will put them on the site.

In my opinion a highlight of the day was Joe Cottam with the Riverina Screamer powered by the Rolls Royce V12.

This tractor went out the gate like it has never done before. Joe, Ray and helpers have spent years developing this engine

now fitted with the latest electronic injection and ignition systems, their dreams have been realized!

The big improvement at the complex was the digital scoreboard, this showed the last tractor to pull.

A couple of the classes were down in numbers but those present put on a very impressive show, the T&I Terminator has

became of age with 5 faultless passes throughout the day, we need more Pro Stockers.

Machinery Dealers and Tractor Companies, PLEASE back this great class of Tractor Pulling.

We saw our first tractor from Tasmania, Violent Grumble, Adrian Walsh made his move into the ATPA sanctioned

pulling scene with his mini modified, Adrian is a member of the Tassie association.

I believe the day went well in every aspect, being track marshal I was kept at the track start line all day and was

not able to gauge how the day was running.

An observation from trackside, the spectator numbers seemed to be similar to the previous year, gate numbers not know by

 me at this time.

The days proceedings ended shortly after 10 pm with a large number of spectators still present.

This was followed by the presentations in the complex hall, a very enjoyable supper was had by all who attended.

Don Murray representing New Holland was there to help with the presentations.

The final presentation was a tongue in cheek affair, a couple of club members about 2 weeks previous were digging a

post hole and found a bit of cable. The result someone got hold of removed part and made a trophy out of it and it was

 presented to the 2 slightly embarrassed boys. As I say only those that do something make mistakes, ones who don't

make mistakes don't do anything in the first place, (we need more mistake makers in our club) eg: workers.

As usual John Parker - T&I Centres, along with New Holland supplied all the support tractors, we cannot even

gauge how much this support is worth to us, but it is immense.
